Senior Finance Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join a well‑established educational organisation in Slough. The role will support senior finance leaders in managing budgets, financial reporting and day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring value for money and high financial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior finance leaders with budget monitoring and financial reporting.
• Assist with annual budget setting and year‑end accounts processes.
• Monitor expenditure and income, maintaining accurate financial controls.
• Maintain and oversee the contracts register and support payroll monitoring.
• Provide financial support for Special Educational Needs (SEN) budget monitoring.
• Process supplier invoices, support accounts payable and procurement activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver finance services.

Required profile

• Previous finance experience within a school, academy trust or educational environment.
• Full or part‑qualified accountant status (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT or equivalent).
• Strong budgeting, reporting and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time‑management abilities.

• Sage 200 financial ledger system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Word.
• Microsoft PowerPoint.
