Senior Financial Accountant – Banking

About the role

This senior financial accountant position offers a hands‑on role within a fast‑growing banking business. You will work across financial control, reporting, operations and governance while interacting with senior stakeholders and contributing to process‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and regulatory standards.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and strong financial controls.
• Coordinate external audit activities and ensure timely delivery of statutory accounts.
• Analyse financial data to provide insights that support strategic decision‑making.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles as required.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CPA or CIMA) or nearing qualification.
• Experience in banking, financial services or another regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven track record of month‑end close, reconciliations and financial control.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Understanding of IFRS standards.
• Experience with finance systems (e.g., ERP or accounting software).
• Data analysis capabilities.
