Senior Financial Accountant – Group Reporting & Technical Accounting

About the role

The Group is a fast‑scaling, PE‑backed organisation seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own Group Reporting and Technical Accounting. Based in London with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office), you will sit between core accounting delivery and Group‑wide reporting, reporting to the Group Financial Controller and Corporate Finance Director.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Group’s go‑to technical resource on leases (IFRS 16), revenue recognition (IFRS 15), impairment (IAS 36), financial instruments and business combinations, drafting clear technical accounting papers.
• Lead impairment reviews, CGU analysis and oversee the IFRS 16 lease model, keeping the accounting policies manual up‑to‑date and consistently applied.
• Support financial due diligence, purchase price allocations, fair‑value assessments and post‑acquisition integration for a portfolio of acquisitions.
• Own designated month‑end close areas, lead year‑end statutory accounts, support Group consolidation and manage statutory filings for ~60 subsidiaries (including iXBRL tagging).
• Serve as key contact for external auditors and provide reporting to PE investors, lenders, Companies House and HMRC, while coaching Financial Accountants on technical matters.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting knowledge with a firm grasp of IFRS and FRS 102.
• Deep expertise in IFRS 16, IFRS 15 and IAS 36.
• ACA or ACCA qualified, audit‑trained with 3+ years post‑qualification experience in a large, complex, listed or PE‑backed organisation.
• Detail‑oriented, able to research standards, apply them to live transactions and communicate findings clearly.
