Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a dual‑listed energy group, is expanding its London finance team and seeks a Senior Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will support financial reporting, analysis and stakeholder reporting across the business in a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs.
• Perform detailed balance‑sheet and P&L analysis, investigating variances and trends.
• Review and challenge financial information prepared by external advisers.
• Support month‑end and year‑end reporting processes, including reconciliations and commentary.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting activities.
• Provide board, lender and investor reporting, liaising with external auditors and advisers.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies.
• Partner with finance and wider business stakeholders to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
• Experience in a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy practice with an external audit background.
• 1‑3 years of industry experience after qualification, preferably in oil & gas, energy, infrastructure or natural resources.
• Strong financial reporting, analytical and review capabilities.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• US GAAP (beneficial).

What we offer

• Salary £75,000‑£90,000 per year.
