Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Join a high‑growth, private‑equity backed business in Birmingham as a Senior Financial Accountant. You will work closely with senior finance leaders, gaining exposure to group reporting, statutory compliance, audit, and finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial and statutory reports.
• Produce month‑end journals, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Support the preparation of consolidated group accounts.
• Assist with the annual external audit process.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and group accounting policies.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and reporting.
• Support VAT, statutory and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
• Support finance transformation and systems‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (essential).
• Training within a Top 20, national or well‑regarded independent accountancy practice.
• Strong experience in financial accounting, statutory accounts or audit.
• Ambitious mindset with a desire to develop a long‑term finance career.
