Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Happy Days Nurseries is expanding with a new support hub in Swindon and is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant (Technical Accountant) to join its finance team. You will play a pivotal role in managing group finances, preparing statutory accounts and supporting audits while helping to shape the finance function for future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare group accounts and financial reports for multiple entities.
• Lead consolidation of financial information across the group.
• Coordinate and support external audit activities.
• Prepare statutory accounts and file required documents with Companies House.
• Develop and maintain strong financial controls and governance processes.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, auditors and investors to deliver accurate financial information.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and ways of working.
• Support business growth initiatives, acquisitions and organisational change.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIPFA qualified.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in group accounting or a multi‑company environment.
• Proven ability to prepare statutory accounts and support audits.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and Companies House requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Effective communicator able to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
