Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

The law firm is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Tunbridge Wells. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the accuracy and robustness of financial reporting, statutory accounts and partnership accounting.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the monthly financial close, post complex journals and maintain the general ledger.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and lead the external audit process.
  • Maintain partner capital, current accounts, drawings and tax reserve balances.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year and provide financial commentary.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and controls.

Required profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with several years of experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience handling partnership accounting and audit coordination.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
