Senior Financial Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the finance team of a leading global law firm in London. You will act as a trusted business partner, delivering insight‑driven analysis that supports strategic decision‑making across Europe and Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to understand performance drivers and provide actionable financial insights.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across international teams.
• Deliver detailed profitability analysis, including monthly, quarterly and year‑on‑year reviews.
• Prepare monthly reporting packs highlighting KPIs such as utilisation, leverage and expenses.
• Conduct client and project‑level profitability and break‑even analysis.
• Support firm‑wide initiatives such as revenue forecasting and annual planning processes.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities and make recommendations to leadership.
• Support strategic client management by providing financial insights and performance tracking.
• Review and validate headcount reporting and financial coding.
• Contribute to process improvements and best‑practice development within Finance.
• Assist with ad‑hoc analysis, projects and reporting as required.

Required profile

• Experience in financial analysis or a related field.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Understanding of financial controls and compliance principles.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
