Senior Financial Controller – Hybrid (Leeds)

About the role

Robert Half is partnering with a historic Leeds‑based business to recruit a Senior Financial Controller. This senior leadership position combines deep accounting expertise with the responsibility of guiding a high‑performing finance team in a dynamic, multi‑entity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and manage a high‑calibre team.
• Oversee group financial control, reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure robust application of current accounting standards.
• Assess the accounting impact of acquisitions, restructurings and growth initiatives.
• Support the evolution of group accounting policies.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and controls.
• Act as a strategic finance partner to senior leadership.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Significant post‑qualified experience in senior finance leadership roles.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, including UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Proven experience operating in a group environment.
• Understanding of accounting considerations surrounding M&A, change and growth.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate teams.
• Commercially aware and confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
