Senior Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing engineering SME, is looking for a Senior Financial Controller to lead the finance function and act as a strategic business partner to the Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will shape financial systems, policies and controls while supporting rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt and enhance finance systems, policies and processes to meet the needs of a fast‑growing business.
• Monitor the scalability, robustness and appropriateness of procedures, controls and policies.
• Define and implement systems and processes that support the company’s growth plans.
• Develop financial accounting, reporting and compliance processes in line with legislative changes, corporate restructuring and evolving business requirements.
• Provide hands‑on leadership, mentor the finance team and contribute to day‑to‑day accounting activities.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with at least 10 years of post‑qualification experience in a commercial environment.
• Proven experience designing, implementing and developing financial systems, processes and policies.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change in fast‑changing business contexts.
• In‑depth knowledge of tax and accounting legislation.

• Competitive salary between £100,000 and £115,000 per year.
