About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter for our Direct Business in Leeds. This strategic position will give you influence over underwriting strategy, portfolio performance and product development within a fast‑growing insurer.

Key responsibilities

• Shape underwriting decisions and risk appetite for Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers lines.
• Drive digital growth, AI and automation initiatives to improve trading capability.
• Manage portfolio performance, pricing and product development in collaboration with specialist teams.
• Support profitable growth while maintaining underwriting discipline, customer outcomes and regulatory standards.
• Provide insights to senior management on portfolio trends and strategic opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong commercial awareness and interest in evolving underwriting within a direct insurance environment.
• Dynamic, agile and comfortable working in a fast‑changing, digitally‑focused organisation.
• Proven technical competence in Financial Lines underwriting (PI & D&O).
• Ability to balance governance requirements with trading opportunities.
