Senior Golang Engineer – AI Product & Platforms

About the role

Citi is looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join its Application, Platform and Engineering team. You will help shape the bank’s AI strategy by building high‑performance, production‑grade platforms that power AI applications at enterprise scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI‑powered products from concept to production using clean, maintainable Go code.
• Build low‑latency, high‑throughput microservices that operate reliably at planetary scale.
• Create reusable libraries, SDKs and internal tooling to accelerate development across fast‑paced teams.
• Address complex distributed‑system challenges such as concurrency, fault tolerance, data consistency and service orchestration.
• Champion engineering excellence by driving best practices in code quality, testing and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven deep‑dive expertise in Golang, building large‑scale, high‑performance production systems.
• Strong passion for distributed systems, cloud‑native architectures and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with generative AI projects, especially those involving large language models (LLMs), and the ability to discuss architecture and evaluation.
• Results‑driven mindset with flexibility to adapt and impact across ambiguous problem spaces.
