Senior Golang Engineer – AI Products & Platforms

About the role

Join Citi’s AI Product & Platform team, a fast‑moving engineering group within the Chief Technology Office. You will help create the next generation of AI‑powered products and platforms that drive technology delivery across one of the world’s largest banks.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build AI‑enabled products and platforms using Go.
• Develop high‑performance backend services and APIs at enterprise scale.
• Create and improve internal developer tools, frameworks and reusable components.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and AI specialists to turn ideas into production‑ready solutions.
• Contribute to cloud‑native, microservices‑based architecture design and implementation.
• Promote engineering best practices in code quality, testing, observability and CI/CD.
• Address complex distributed‑system challenges focusing on scalability, resilience and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Proven track record building scalable, business‑critical applications in Go.
• Strong experience designing large‑scale backend services and APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with microservices and distributed environments.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies, containerisation and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, system design and performance optimisation.
• Experience taking products from concept through to production.
• Exposure to AI, machine‑learning or LLM‑powered applications is a plus.
