Senior Hardware Engineer – Product Redesign & High‑Speed Digital (x86)

About the role
Join a leading embedded‑computing team delivering high‑performance solutions for defence, telecoms and aerospace. You will own the redesign of shipped products, solving real‑world issues and extending product lifecycles while working with the latest Intel silicon.
Key responsibilities
- Full ownership of product redesign from issue investigation to verified fix.
- Test and redesign existing products, incorporating customer and production feedback.
- Lead complete re‑design of legacy products and integrate the newest market components.
- Create and modernise high‑density (16–20 layer) schematics and PCB layouts, verifying signal‑integrity.
- Manage component obsolescence, documentation and conduct design reviews.
- Report technical progress and help shape hardware development processes.
Required profile
- 3+ years of professional electronics engineering experience, focusing on high‑speed digital design and debugging.
- Degree in an electronics‑related discipline.
- Strong understanding of complex, high‑layer‑count PCB design and signal‑integrity considerations such as crosstalk.
Required skills
- High‑speed digital circuit design
- Debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analysers
- High‑density PCB design (16–20 layers)
- Signal‑integrity analysis and crosstalk mitigation
- Intel x86 architecture knowledge
- PCI Express, Ethernet and DDR4 memory interfaces
- FPGAs
