Senior Health and Safety Advisor

About the role

Juniper Ventures Ltd is seeking a self‑motivated Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join its growing team in Stratford. Reporting to the Operations Manager for Health and Safety, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance across education and public‑sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct audits and reviews against occupational health and safety legislation and best‑practice methodology.
• Identify non‑compliance areas, support implementation of corrective actions and meet deadlines.
• Assist the Head of Health and Safety in policy development and staff guidance.
• Investigate RIDDOR incidents, extract lessons learned and report to the Board and Health & Safety Committee.
• Perform planned inspections of remote sites, produce reports for management and the committee.
• Support operations teams with ISO audits, manage non‑conformities, record‑keeping and corrective action plans.

Required profile

• Qualified health and safety practitioner (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred).
• Experience in occupational health and safety, ideally within education or school environments.
• Knowledge of building‑related safety issues such as legionella, gas safety and asbestos.
• Familiarity with ISO standards implementation and monitoring.
• Proven ability to investigate accidents, provide practical advice and produce detailed audit reports.

Required skills

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• CMIOSH accreditation or progress towards it.
• ISO Lead Auditor accreditation or progress towards it.
• NVQ Level 4/5 in Occupational Safety and Health (desirable).
