Senior Housing Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Housing Support Worker to join our Supported Housing team in Swindon. The role involves providing person‑centred support to vulnerable adults who have experienced homelessness and may have complex needs such as mental health issues, substance misuse, or offending histories. You will help residents move towards independence while guiding the wider support team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of service users, delivering intensive housing management and personalised support.
• Conduct assessments, develop support and risk‑management plans, and regularly review progress.
• Use trauma‑informed and strengths‑based approaches to build trusting relationships and promote recovery.
• Identify safeguarding concerns, assess risks and implement safety strategies in line with organisational procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues, model best practice and support incident and property checks.
• Assist with tenancy/licence issues, including warnings and breach management.

Required profile

• Significant experience working with adults in supported housing or similar settings.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and crisis de‑escalation.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to person‑centred, trauma‑informed practice.
