Senior HR Advisor – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a growing professional services organisation with offices across the Midlands, is seeking a proactive Senior HR Advisor on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave. The role will partner with managers and employees to deliver high‑quality HR services, manage complex employee‑relations cases and support recruitment and development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice and support to employees, line managers and senior leaders.
• Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance issues.
• Conduct investigations and support formal meetings and hearings.
• Coach and guide managers on people‑management best practices and employment legislation.
• Draft formal HR correspondence and maintain accurate employee records.
• Support probationary reviews and performance‑management processes.
• Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment and selection activities.
• Organise and coordinate training courses, development programmes and HR‑related events.
• Liaise with external training providers and maintain learning and development schedules.
• Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across multiple office locations.
• Keep up to date with employment law developments and support policy updates.

Required profile

• Proven generalist HR experience, ideally within a professional services or fast‑paced commercial environment.
• Strong experience managing employee‑relations cases from start to finish.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Experience coaching, advising and influencing managers on people‑related matters.
• Recruitment and onboarding experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
