Senior HR Advisor

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing construction firm with over 160 employees across multiple sites. The Senior HR Advisor will be based at the head office in Winsford and act as the primary HR contact for managers and teams throughout the region, delivering a full generalist service.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries across all regional offices.
• Travel to sites to support managers and staff on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and policy compliance.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, prepare contracts, offer letters and new‑starter documentation.
• Coordinate payroll and benefits, maintain accurate HR records and produce reports for senior leadership.
• Lead disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases, including investigations.
• Oversee exit interviews, off‑boarding and ensure GDPR and data‑protection compliance.
• Keep HR policies up to date with legislation and design training resources.
• Establish and manage an apprenticeship programme and lead HR projects such as succession planning and organisational change.
• Coach managers and build HR capability across the business.

Required profile

• Confident, pragmatic and approachable with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Proven experience as a senior HR generalist or advisor in a multi‑site environment.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Ability to produce HR reports and work with HRIS systems.
• Excellent communication, coaching and problem‑solving abilities.
