Senior HR Generalist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join a values‑led, multi‑site organisation as a Senior HR Generalist. The role offers a broad generalist remit, allowing you to provide practical advice, support employee relations and work closely with managers and senior stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and guidance to managers.
• Support employee‑relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances and performance management.
• Coach and advise managers on people‑related challenges.
• Manage absence, wellbeing initiatives and employee support.
• Review, update and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Advise on contractual changes, terms and conditions.
• Assist with payroll‑related queries.
• Maintain accurate HR records and people data.
• Utilise HR systems and data to inform decision‑making.
• Contribute to HR projects, continuous improvement and people‑process development.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor or similar generalist role.
• Strong background in employee relations.
• Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Proven ability to advise and coach managers.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
• Experience working with HR systems and people data.
• CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent); CIPD Level 5 desirable.
