Senior Hydrologist – Flood Modelling Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Hydrologist to lead flood risk, drainage and water resources projects across the Midlands and the wider UK. The role offers technical ownership, client interaction and the chance to mentor junior engineers within a respected environmental consultancy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead flood risk assessments, SuDS strategies and hydrological modelling.
• Produce high‑quality technical reports for planning and development applications.
• Support projects from feasibility studies through detailed design.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliant, cost‑effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical outputs.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation and best practice.

Required profile

• Degree in Hydrogeology, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in flood risk and drainage engineering.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Strong communication and project delivery skills.
