Senior II Full-Stack Engineer (back-end heavy)

About the role

Preply is scaling its learning platform and needs a senior engineer who can drive backend excellence while contributing to the full‑stack. You will work with a cross‑functional team to deliver high‑impact features for learners and tutors worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Back‑end development: design, build and evolve scalable Python/Django services, own critical integrations and drive architectural decisions.
• Front‑end development: create and improve React/TypeScript user experiences and experimentation frameworks.
• Lead complex initiatives from discovery through deployment, balancing short‑term product needs with long‑term sustainability.
• Mentor engineers, conduct architectural reviews and promote best practices across the stack.
• Partner with product, data and UX teams to drive data‑driven product development and measurable outcomes.

Required profile

• Deep backend engineering expertise (≈85% backend focus) with ability to contribute to full‑stack solutions.
• Experience designing large‑scale web applications, APIs, distributed systems and high‑volume data flows.
• Proven technical leadership, influencing architecture and mentoring engineers.
• Strong product mindset, translating ambiguous business challenges into scalable solutions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; English level B2 or higher.
