Senior Infrastructure Architect – Public Sector (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Architect to lead technical design and assurance for a large‑scale local government transformation programme. The role is hybrid, based in Surrey with remote flexibility, and runs on an initial nine‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Assess legacy infrastructure across multiple councils and produce a baseline current‑state model.
• Design resilient transition and convergence options for networks, identity, Microsoft 365, telephony and cyber‑security controls.
• Set technical design standards, maintain decision records and manage technical risks, dependencies and service continuity.
• Coordinate multi‑disciplinary and third‑party delivery teams throughout the programme.
• Provide architecture leadership and design assurance across the entire transition lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in infrastructure architecture and design assurance on complex, multi‑site programmes.
• Hands‑on knowledge of networking, connectivity and network interconnect design.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant and domain dependencies.
• Strong background in identity and access management and cyber‑security controls.
• Practical exposure to telephony and contact‑centre migration planning.
• Previous work within public sector or local government transformation is advantageous.
