Senior Infrastructure Engineer – £60k-£75k + Benefits

About the role

Oscar Technology is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, deliver and maintain robust IT infrastructure solutions for its growing client base. You will own the full lifecycle of physical and virtual environments, driving automation and ensuring high availability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement physical and virtual IT infrastructure solutions.
• Lead infrastructure projects and ensure timely delivery to customer requirements.
• Provide 3rd‑line support and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Maintain systems through patching, upgrades, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Manage VMware and/or Hyper‑V environments.
• Support networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell) and core protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Administer Windows and Linux servers.
• Manage backup solutions such as Veeam and NetBackup.
• Develop automation using Ansible/AWX, PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including incident reports.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Proven ability to deliver projects end‑to‑end.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for complex, multi‑layer issues.
• Experience working in a 3rd‑line support environment.
