Senior Innovation & Conflicts Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking a senior lawyer with over ten years of post‑qualification experience to join Fieldfisher’s Risk function in London. The role sits at the centre of the firm’s client and matter opening processes, working closely with the head of conflicts and senior stakeholders to advise on complex conflict and innovation matters.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline conflicts workflows, reducing friction while maintaining controls.
• Collaborate across systems and teams to improve data flow, automation and usability in matter opening processes.
• Lead the assessment and resolution of complex legal and commercial conflicts of interest, including cross‑border matters.
• Act as senior escalation point for high‑risk or sensitive mandates and oversee design of information barriers.
• Manage the firm’s use of engagement letters, conflict provisions, waivers and client terms, supporting standard template development.
• Provide trusted advice to partners on conflicts, onboarding and risk strategy, and support training delivery.
• Contribute to wider innovation initiatives within the Risk function and across the firm.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years PQE, including at least 4 years focused on conflicts.
• In‑depth knowledge of professional conduct rules and regulatory frameworks such as the SRA.
• Experience with client onboarding systems and conflicts platforms, preferably Intapp.
• Demonstrable interest or experience in legal technology, AI or process improvement.
• Proven track record of improving or implementing operational solutions.
