Senior Inspection Engineer

About the role

The Senior Inspection Engineer will lead inspection processes and strategies for Oceaneering’s assets in Aberdeen, ensuring compliance with client codes, legislation and best practice. The role involves managing inspection plans, supervising teams and delivering technical reports to support safe and reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to inspection discipline engineers, allocate work and review output.
• Develop, execute and manage asset inspection plans, including corrosion monitoring and shutdown support.
• Ensure compliance with client engineering and safety standards, endorse inspection reports and trigger remedial actions.
• Maintain data integrity in inspection databases and maintenance systems such as Maximo and SAP.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC or NVQ Level 4 in an engineering subject and UKAS RG2 Category 2 compatible certification.
• Extensive experience with in‑service inspection of plant and equipment, including knowledge of standards, risk assessments and legislation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, coach engineers and conduct competency assessments.

Required skills

• ASME or CSWIP Plant Inspector Level 2 certification.
• API 510, API 570 and API 653 (or EMMUA 159 Level 1) inspection certifications.
• NDT core techniques certification and Confined Space Entry training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Maximo and SAP inspection databases.
