Senior Investment Associate

About the role

The Senior Investment Associate will join the Total Portfolio Management (TPM) team within the Investment Strategy & Advice (ISA) function of USS. You will contribute from day one to the design, implementation and day‑to‑day management of the DB and DC investment solutions, working closely with a wide range of internal experts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver DB and DC asset‑allocation solutions, manage portfolio rebalancing and implement target‑allocation changes.
• Support strategic portfolio construction through return forecasts, scenario analysis and asset‑class deep dives.
• Drive strategy implementation, including mandate design, synthetic allocation design and process enhancements.
• Lead or co‑lead thematic research projects on strategic and cyclical asset‑allocation topics.
• Develop and refine long‑term capital‑market return forecasting models.
• Conduct scenario and stress testing to assess macro‑economic and market impacts.
• Communicate portfolio analysis and decisions to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in investment strategy, asset allocation and portfolio management.
• Strong analytical ability to run scenario analysis and stress testing.
• Experience collaborating with internal investment teams, asset‑class desks and manager research.
• Ability to translate strategic decisions into actionable implementation plans.
