Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Our client, a well‑established Managed Service Provider, is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure, cloud, networking and security incidents. You will lead root‑cause analysis, mentor junior engineers and design resilient solutions across multiple client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own high‑priority technical incidents from diagnosis to resolution.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Design, plan and deliver infrastructure, cloud migration and networking projects.
• Architect and deploy advanced Microsoft cloud, server and network solutions.
• Build, migrate, configure and maintain Windows Server environments.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune services.
• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, switching, routing and network security.
• Design, manage and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud issues.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record of successful root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to work across diverse client environments and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client and stakeholder interaction.
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior technical staff.

• Microsoft Intune device management.
• Windows Server 2016‑2022 installation, migration and troubleshooting.

• Network security and conditional access concepts.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solution design.
