Senior Java Engineer – Equinox, Equity Derivatives Tech (VP)

About the role

Citi is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join the Equinox team within Equity Derivatives Technology. The role sits at VP level and focuses on designing, building and supporting a data platform that powers trading and benchmark administration processes.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technical architecture for the Equinox data platform, including data and process flows to upstream and downstream systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders from the Trading and Benchmark Administration Team to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Develop, maintain and support core Java services that enable automation, improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
• Work closely with other Equity Derivatives Tech engineers and product partners to deliver high‑performance, resilient functionality.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in software engineering, preferably within financial services.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to influence architecture decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with business and technical teams.
