Senior Land Manager – Strategic Land Development

As a Senior Land Manager you will drive the creation and execution of land‑use strategies that deliver environmental, operational, social and commercial value across a diverse estate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the overall Land Strategy, producing plans for recreation, farming and commercial development.
• Identify and evaluate land opportunities, using data‑driven analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Translate strategic concepts into structured programmes with clear financial models and delivery routes.
• Develop comprehensive business cases for investment in land‑based initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish governance pathways and represent the land strategy in committees and steering groups.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, monitoring policy and market trends to spot risks and opportunities.
• Lead research into new land‑use approaches, benchmark against leading organisations and produce strategic insights.

Required profile

• Strong background in land strategy, rural estate management or environmental planning.
• Proven experience developing strategic land programmes and business cases.
• Excellent analytical ability and experience interpreting complex data.
• Demonstrated capability to work across multiple business functions and influence senior stakeholders.
