Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Our client, a leading specialist social care and special educational needs provider, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Commercial Business Function. Working in a hybrid model (three days in the West London office and two days remote), you will partner with Procurement and senior leadership to negotiate revenue‑generating contracts and manage key supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial contract negotiations, especially for technology, IT and outsourcing arrangements.
• Provide strategic advice on risk allocation, liability, indemnities and commercial structuring.
• Apply regulatory and governance perspectives to commercial decisions.
• Act as a trusted advisor, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
• Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and deliver training on key contractual provisions.
• Maintain accurate records of commercial agreements and related documentation.
• Support senior leadership and Board‑level stakeholders with risk mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with extensive commercial law experience.
• Proven track record of negotiating high‑value contracts in technology or IT sectors.
• Strong ability to advise senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
