About the role

This position is for a DV‑cleared Senior Linux System Administrator to join a specialist team that supports a secure, large‑scale big‑data platform for a critical national infrastructure programme. The role is based on‑site in Reading and follows a standard Monday‑Friday, 37.5‑hour week.

Key responsibilities

Administer, maintain and optimise Linux server environments (RHEL, Rocky Linux or similar).
Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi infrastructure.
Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and Bash/shell scripting.
Troubleshoot complex Linux, networking, storage and performance issues.
Support secure IT infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

DV security clearance.
Senior‑level experience in Linux system administration.
Willingness to work 100% on‑site in Reading.
Full‑time availability (Monday‑Friday, 37.5 hours per week).

Required skills

Strong Linux administration (RHEL, Rocky Linux or equivalent).
VMware vSphere and ESXi management.
Automation with Ansible.
Bash/shell scripting.
Networking and storage troubleshooting.
CI/CD and infrastructure security knowledge.
