Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our multidisciplinary data and AI team in London. This hands‑on role focuses on delivering high‑impact, real‑world ML solutions in a secure, regulated environment, operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end ML projects, from problem definition through experimentation, evaluation and iteration.
• Design and run structured experiments to assess model behaviour, performance and user impact.
• Work with real, imperfect operational data, transforming it to support continuous model improvement.
• Integrate ML components into wider systems while considering performance, reliability and operational constraints.
• Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and participate in deep technical design reviews.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer or Applied ML Scientist.
• Strong grounding in applied mathematics, statistics and scientific practice.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate models using quantitative evidence and structured experimentation.
• Comfort operating in a strong technical assurance and review culture.

Required skills

• Excellent Python programming skills for building, evaluating and iterating ML solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries.
• Ability to design experiments, analyse results and communicate findings.
