Senior Maintenance Engineer (Maintenance Lead)

About the role

As part of our three‑person Line Structure Management Team, you will improve equipment reliability, reduce losses and drive performance across a production line. This hands‑on position combines technical leadership, continuous improvement and coaching, working closely with Operations colleagues and Equipment Owners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Progressive Maintenance programme, owning strategy and driving reliability improvements.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and loss‑elimination activities to address recurring equipment and process issues.
• Partner with Operations and Equipment Owners to improve line performance and achieve shared goals.
• Coach and develop colleagues, embedding best‑practice maintenance and fostering a culture of ownership.

Required profile

• Level 3 engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) in Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven maintenance and fault‑finding expertise with a track record of improving equipment reliability.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean, TPM or IWS.
• Leadership and coaching ability in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in food production, FMCG or other engineering sectors with transferable skills.

Required skills
