Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller

About the role

This senior finance position sits within a fast‑growing specialist financial services business in Leeds. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will own the day‑to‑day finance function and help shape the company’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and board reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Own cash‑flow forecasting and treasury management.
• Maintain robust financial controls, governance and statutory reporting (VAT, corporation tax, audit).
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support commercial decisions.
• Build and manage relationships with banks, funders, auditors and external advisers.
• Support strategic projects, business planning and future growth initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 2‑5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Background in specialist financial services such as financing, lending, factoring or funding.
• Proactive, problem‑solving attitude with a desire to take ownership.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities shift daily.
