Senior Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Management Accountant for a 12‑14 month fixed‑term contract with a well‑established international consumer business. The role covers ownership of accounting and reporting for multiple UK entities and the financial performance of a key commercial channel across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the general ledger and produce accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts for designated UK entities.
• Manage the period‑end close process, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and audit schedule preparation.
• Prepare and support the delivery of annual statutory accounts and ensure compliance with internal controls and group accounting policies.
• Oversee accounting for a major commercial channel across several European markets, reviewing revenue, margin, provisions and related schedules (returns, discounts, rebates, commissions, bad debts, deferred revenue).
• Collaborate with FP&A, sales, customer operations and credit teams to analyse performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor regional corporate expenditure, purchase orders and accruals, and support lease accounting and freight/distribution provisions.
• Contribute to wider finance projects and provide guidance to junior team members.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong experience producing management accounts and managing month‑end close activities.
• Commercially aware with ability to analyse performance and provide commentary to senior stakeholders.
• Experience in statutory reporting, audit support and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to work across multiple entities and European markets.
