Senior Management Accountant

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a growing and successful business based in Bury. This key finance‑team role offers ownership of management accounts, valuable financial insight for senior management and a chance to support the company’s continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Producing detailed management information and financial reporting packs
• Providing analysis and commentary on financial performance, variances and trends
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning
• Preparing monthly accruals, pre‑payments and journal entries
• Balance‑sheet reconciliations and control‑account management
• Monitoring costs, margins and business performance
• Working closely with operational and senior management teams to provide financial insight
• Supporting year‑end accounts and the external audit process
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and processes
• Assisting with ad‑hoc financial analysis and commercial projects
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the finance team where required

Required profile

• Strong management accounting experience
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts
• Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial controls
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with non‑finance stakeholders
• Commercially focused and proactive approach
• Ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part‑qualified
