Senior Management Accountant – Manufacturing (3 days onsite)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join a fast‑paced manufacturing business on the outskirts of Gloucester. The role is a 6‑month contract, working three days per week on‑site, and will act as a key finance business partner supporting operational and supply‑chain decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and fixed assets.
• Manage the month‑end close process to ensure timely and reliable reporting.
• Produce reporting packs with commentary on performance, risks and opportunities.
• Deliver variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year results.
• Partner with operational and supply‑chain teams to provide financial insight.
• Support capital‑expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
• Maintain strong balance‑sheet controls and assist with year‑end audit requirements.
• Identify and drive process improvements across the finance function.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Significant management accounting experience in a fast‑moving commercial environment.
• Experience in manufacturing or FMCG is highly advantageous.
• Proven month‑end accounting and variance analysis expertise.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business‑partnering skills.
