Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Process Planning & CAD

About the role

Gibbs Gears is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead process planning and CAD activities for high‑accuracy aerospace components. You will translate complex customer drawings into repeatable manufacturing routes and ensure the shop floor has all the engineering data needed for successful production.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret aerospace drawings, specifications, GD&T and material requirements.
• Develop detailed manufacturing routes, operation sequences and stage drawings.
• Define tooling, work‑holding, fixtures, gauges and consumables.
• Support CNC turning, milling, gear cutting, gear grinding, heat‑treatment, plating and inspection planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning and Purchasing to achieve production readiness.
• Maintain accurate manufacturing data in the ERP system and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering within aerospace, defence, motorsport or high‑precision machining.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Proven track record of creating manufacturing routes and process plans for precision components.
