Senior Mechanical Engineer – AgriTech Startup

About the role

Cordon is an innovative agri‑tech startup developing precision mixing equipment for specialty crop farms. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead product development and bring our technology to more farms worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead full‑lifecycle product development from specification through design, testing and manufacturing.
• Own and maintain the product CAD models.
• Create and keep up‑to‑date mechanical design and manufacturing documentation.
• Design production‑ready mechanical systems and components that meet safety, usability and reliability requirements.
• Plan and conduct experiments, analyse data and use results to improve performance, reliability and safety.
• Refine design and manufacturing processes to scale from pilot to full‑scale production.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, commercial and other functions to deliver integrated solutions.
• Run design and system reviews, manage FMEA documentation and coordinate tasks across small engineering teams.
• Develop strong relationships with external suppliers and potential partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience taking products from concept to manufacture at moderate to large scale.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong background in industrial design, product development and testing environments.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD proficiency (OnShape or SolidWorks).
• Mechanical design and engineering.
• Product development lifecycle management.
• Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Experiment design, data analysis and interpretation.
• Manufacturing documentation and planning.
