Senior Mechanical Engineer – Edinburgh (Hybrid)

About the role

This senior position offers an entrepreneurial mechanical engineer the chance to help launch and lead a new Edinburgh office for an established building services consultancy. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects across Scotland and the North of England while contributing to business development and office growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical engineering solutions from concept through to project completion.
• Lead HVAC and public health design across commercial, education, healthcare and residential projects.
• Produce design calculations, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
• Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Identify and support new business opportunities in Scotland and the North of England.
• Mentor junior engineers as the team expands.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Proven experience within a Building Services or MEP consultancy environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and interest in business development.
• Ambition to progress into a leadership role and help grow a new office.

Required skills

• HVAC and public health design.
• Proficiency with Revit, IES or similar BIM software.
• Design calculations, specifications and scheduling.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
