Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join a unique engineering organisation that operates world‑class aerodynamic testing facilities. You will work on maintaining, upgrading and developing complex mechanical systems that support critical plant and infrastructure for aerospace and defence customers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve legacy plant and machinery.
• Design, specify and commission new mechanical systems.
• Lead refurbishment, upgrade and new‑equipment projects from concept to hand‑over.
• Review operational data to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage suppliers and support commissioning activities.
• Ensure reliability, safety and long‑term performance of industrial equipment.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in an industrial engineering role working with plant or process equipment.
• Proven ability to lead engineering projects through the full design lifecycle.
• British passport holder able to obtain Security Clearance.
