Senior Network Engineer – Contract (Sussex)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a busy Networks team supporting a large enterprise infrastructure across multiple sites in Sussex. This hands‑on contract role involves maintaining, supporting and improving the organisation's network services while working independently on complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and support enterprise network infrastructure.
• Deliver structured cabling installations, including WAN, distribution, BMS, IoT and wireless access point connections.
• Maintain LAN, WAN, wireless and remote access services.
• Monitor network performance and proactively resolve faults and capacity issues.
• Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and escalations.
• Plan and implement network improvements to enhance performance, resilience and security.
• Maintain technical standards across the network estate and support ISO27001 compliance.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting complex enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, routing, switching and wireless technologies.
• Commercial experience with Juniper networking equipment and Juniper Mist wireless technology.
• Experience administering Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls.
• Ability to work independently and a full UK driving licence.
