Senior Network Engineer

About the role

The Senior Network Engineer will support a major office relocation and data‑centre migration for a global financial services group. The role is contract‑based, based in London, and involves hands‑on work across Arista, Aruba and Cisco infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Layer 2/3 network migration, including switching, routing, VLANs, trunking, STP and LACP, for a new FX trading platform.
• Perform physical infrastructure tasks such as copper and fibre patching, cable routing and labelling to professional standards.
• Support cut‑overs, implementation windows and post‑change validation, including out‑of‑hours work when required.
• Provide ongoing support after go‑live and ensure network stability across multiple sites.

Required profile

• Proven contractor experience with building moves and data‑centre migrations, preferably for a trading platform.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Arista, Aruba and Cisco equipment.
• Solid knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, connectivity validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with third‑party carriers on circuit/WAN migrations.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, business‑critical, multi‑site environment.
