Senior Night Carer - Residential Care Home

About the role

As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home you will look after the diverse needs of residents, delivering quality, person‑centred care. You will lead a night shift team, oversee training and supervision, and ensure a warm, welcoming environment for all.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of care staff during night shifts.
• Provide training, conduct supervisions and delegate duties.
• Administer and order medication safely.
• Review and update resident care plans and risk assessments.
• Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and families.
• Uphold resident dignity and preferences.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
• Previous experience in a residential care setting.
• Proven team‑leadership abilities.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions for resident wellbeing.
• Compassionate, warm‑hearted and committed to individualized care.
