Senior Nurse – Care Home

About the role

As a Senior Nurse (General) in a Barchester care home you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for residents with diverse mental and physical needs. You will be the clinical point of contact, making critical decisions, ensuring safety, and upholding the standards expected of Barchester.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on clinical leadership and create a safe, supportive environment for residents.
• Assess new admissions, develop care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Implement safeguarding policies and administer medicines in line with NMC regulations.
• Mentor and support nursing staff, delivering training and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality of care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration.
• Mentoring or supervision qualification.
• Proven experience creating care plans and risk assessments.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical best practice and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving and ability to support newly qualified nurses.
• Resilient, ambitious and a track record of delivering quality improvements.
