Senior Nurse – Lead Donor Care

About the role

The Senior Nurse will lead the Glasgow and West Donor Collection teams within the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service. This pivotal leadership position focuses on delivering excellence in donor care and supporting the strategic goals of Public Services Delivery Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Glasgow Blood Donor Centre and West Donor Collection teams.
• Ensure high standards of donor care and collection processes.
• Promote continuous professional development within the competency framework.
• Maintain compliance with NHS and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with education, training, and operational functions to improve service delivery.

Required profile

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Willingness to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check and any required overseas criminal record checks.
• Residency and right to work in the United Kingdom.
