Senior Operations Analyst – IT Operations (Grade D)

About the role

The Senior Operations Analyst will monitor TSB’s core banking services using industry‑leading toolsets, ensuring maximum observability and continuous improvement. The role requires inquisitive problem‑solving to triage and react to technology anomalies, keeping applications, systems, infrastructure and services available for customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enhance observability of banking applications, micro‑services, infrastructure, middleware, networking and mainframe batch processes.
• Lead incident triage, coordinate technical recovery teams and make decisions to minimise impact on business operations.
• Engage with IT and business stakeholders across TSB and with external suppliers, maintaining strong communication and relationship management.
• Direct a team of analysts, acting as lead support and driving continuous service availability and performance.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with proven problem‑solving abilities in complex incident scenarios.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder liaison and technical team coordination.
• Experience working within IT operations, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.

Required skills

• Technology monitoring across application services, micro‑services, infrastructure, middleware, networking and mainframe batch.
• Knowledge of ITIL service operation processes, especially incident and problem management.
• Understanding of IT operations and infrastructure layers (network, server, application).
• Familiarity with change management processes to reduce incident recurrence.
• Exposure to banking technology such as digital banking, ATM, mainframe, distributed applications, Citrix and payments.
