Senior Outsourcing Accountant

About the role

Menzies is seeking an Outsourcing Accounts Senior to join our Outsourced Accounting Services team in Manchester. You will work with a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accounting support and advisory‑led services, taking ownership of complex UK GAAP accounts and supporting the finance function from source records to year‑end statutory statements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and work closely with clients and Menzies Managers to understand their accounting needs.
• Prepare statutory accounts, consolidations, financial reports and a variety of client assignments.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, month‑end adjustments and complete VAT returns.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects such as cloud accounting conversions and bespoke reporting setups.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, Relationship Managers and Partners.
• Support, supervise and develop junior colleagues, ensuring high‑quality delivery.
• Collaborate across Menzies teams to provide a joined‑up service and identify additional value opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience in an accountancy practice preparing accounts under UK GAAP.
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or working towards qualification.
• Confident in client‑facing interactions and building relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to own work, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to support and develop junior colleagues and collaborate across service lines.
