Senior Paraplanner Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Paraplanner to lead a high‑performing technical team within an established wealth management business. This permanent, full‑time position is based in Birmingham and offers the chance to shape the delivery of financial planning support for advisers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of paraplanners, technical specialists and junior staff.
• Oversee workflow to ensure tasks meet service level agreements.
• Review and sign‑off complex financial planning reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Act as the primary escalation point for technical queries from advisers and client service teams.
• Collaborate with compliance, operations and senior leadership on process improvements.
• Produce and analyse management information to support business decisions.
• Maintain high standards of documentation, procedures and templates.
• Assist with paraplanning duties, including report writing and technical analysis, when required.

Required profile

• Strong experience in paraplanning within a financial planning or wealth management environment.
• Proven leadership, mentoring or supervisory experience.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Deep understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
• Desirable: Diploma in Financial Planning (DipFA or equivalent).
