Senior Paraplanner Team Leader – St Albans

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Paraplanner to lead a small paraplanning team in St Albans. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality technical support to advisers, manage complex client cases, and mentor junior staff within a fast‑growing independent financial advice practice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare suitability reports and recommendation letters across pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
• Conduct detailed technical research, due‑diligence on providers, platforms and products.
• Assist advisers with complex cases and attend client meetings when required.
• Manage asset allocation and model portfolio recommendations.
• Ensure all client files meet FCA compliance standards.
• Lead, mentor and support the paraplanning and administration team.
• Maintain accurate records, audit trails and manage workflow to meet deadlines.
• Contribute to the improvement of internal systems and processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in paraplanning within a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments, protection and retirement solutions.
• Proven ability to lead and develop junior team members.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance.

• Salary £40,000 – £55,000 per year (depending on experience)
